Gregor Bromme
Gregor began his musical career at the age of 9 when he joined the renowned Dresdner Kreuzchor boys’ choir, where he sang for the next ten years. During his studies of Sound and Music Production at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, he gained expertise in all fields of audio production and decided to focus on Mastering. After his graduation, he worked as an intern at the Wisseloord Studios, followed by his relocation to Berlin, where he opened his own Mastering Studio gb-mastering in 2019. His visions shape the sound, features and appearance of our equipment.
Alexander Bromme
Alex is an experienced mechatronics engineer with a PhD in measurement technology and filter algorithms. He has built more tube amps, guitars and speakers than he could ever need, before eventually starting to focus on studio gear for Gregor's Mastering needs. Having led a mechatronics company specialized in measurement technology for 18 years, he brings the knowledge to develop high-quality equipment with unparalleled focus on precision and longevity.
Design Philosophy
At Bromme Audio, every design decision is guided by a single objective: creating equipment that remains a reliable tool for years of professional use.
Our circuits are developed to preserve the integrity of the source material while providing carefully controlled analog character where it adds practical value. Rather than pursuing absolute transparency or pronounced coloration, we aim for a balance between precision and a subtle, elegant analog tone that integrates naturally into the program material.
Technical performance forms the foundation of every product. High bandwidth, generous headroom and low-noise circuit design ensure stable operation across a wide range of signal levels without compromising accuracy. Every stage is optimized not only for its individual performance but also for its interaction within the complete signal path.
Equally important is the way engineers interact with the equipment. Stepped controls, intuitive layouts and clearly structured user interfaces enable fast operation and reliable recall. Functional simplicity is preferred over unnecessary complexity, allowing attention to remain focused on critical listening rather than on operating the hardware.
Signal integrity is considered throughout the entire design process. Relay-controlled bypass, carefully selected components and robust analog circuitry ensure that every processing stage can be evaluated with confidence and integrated seamlessly into demanding studio environments.
Every Bromme Audio product is designed and manufactured in Germany with an emphasis on precision, consistency and long-term reliability. From the mechanical construction to the electronic design, our goal is to build equipment that delivers the same confidence after years of daily operation as it did on the day it left the workshop.
We believe that professional audio equipment should combine measurable engineering with practical usability. Timeless industrial design, exceptional tactile feedback and uncompromising manufacturing quality are not aesthetic choices alone – they are essential elements of a tool that is built to last.
